HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2024

3-Year Strategic Planning
In the spring board and staff met to create a strategic plan for the next 3 years focusing on goals, benchmarks, and how we want to see the organization grow.

Tucker Road House
Simplicity by Hayden Homes was contracted to build our first home on the piece of land gifted to us by the City of Hood River. We started predevelopment for this project in the fall.

Land Donation
A generous supporter donated a piece of land with the intention of us selling it to help pay for operations costs while we started on our first project.

Contract to Purchase Property
In the fall we entered into a contract to purchase 2.75 acres from Faith Bible Church in Hood River. Our mutual goal is to see the land used to build workforce housing to support the needs of our community.
LOOKING AHEAD IN 2025

Tucker Road House
We broke ground on the foundation in early 2025 and the vertical construction (the actual home, not just the foundation and preparations) will start this spring. Simplicity Homes is optimistic that they will have the home completed and ready for us to sell by the end of 2025. The sale price, once completed, will be less than $360,000. While construction continues, we will be working with our homebuyer applicants to get them prepared for purchase. The official buyer will be selected through a lottery system this year.

Avalon Drive Development
We closed on the purchase of this property at the end of March and will be working with Portland based developer Edlen & Co to design and develop a neighborhood of up to 50 homes on this site. 2025 will be focused on planning and predevelopment for the neighborhood we are looking to construct. We are anticipating this to be around a 5-year project to fully build out. Our intent is to keep the community involved in the process, so keep an eye out for project updates and opportunities to provide your input.
